Nacreous Clouds

Nacreous clouds or mother of pearl clouds are very rare and spectacular clouds, which are formed high up in the stratosphere, much higher than ordinary clouds.

They are luminous and have amazing, vivid rainbow colours.

The darker the sky is, the more intense their colours appear.

Usually they can only be seen at high latitudes and only during winter and only around either the sunrise or the sunset time.

They look as incredible as Aurora Borealis, but are much more colourful than that.

Our planet is very beautiful.

Happy Earth Day. ❤
